The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has just brought out a report (8.8.19), ”IPCC Special Report on Climate Change, Desertification, Land Degradation, Sustainable Land Management, Food Security, and Greenhouse gas fluxes in Terrestrial Ecosystems Summary for Policymakers Approved Draft”. provides a short summary of the Kyoto protocol on climate change agreed in 1997 and also gives a range of useful links related to climate change including the UNFCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) site:

4. The FAO Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture have produced a very useful report on “The State of the World’s Biodiversity for Food and Agriculture:

another 600 page report but very useful for those involved in land use planning and management and forestry and agriculture, and for those interested in soil beyond its mechanical properties to those including soil ecological services.
